Safer Tourism Foundation
Pack Safe Appeal
This month, the Safer Tourism Foundation launched the Pack Safe Appeal campaign, in collaboration with the family of Hudson Foley. The campaign has been created in Hudson’s honour after he passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning in Quito last August, while travelling and volunteering across South America.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the risks of carbon monoxide poisoning among travellers, to encourage backpackers and holidaymakers to carry portable CO alarms, and to make sure that travel operators, online guides, and governments clearly communicate the risks of carbon monoxide in dwellings abroad.
LATA have also lent their support to the campaign, providing a quote for the press release as well as sharing some of the key campaign assets on social media.
Since launching, the campaign has generated quite a bit of attention in the UK press, with the Foley family and Safer Tourism Foundation appearing on BBC Breakfast and ITV Meridian, as well as coverage in outlets such as The Mirror, Daily Record, Charity News Today and travel industry titles such as Travel Weekly. Across social media, influencers like Simon Calder have shared the story, as well as carbon monoxide specialists and distributors such as Safelincs and FireAngel.
Chelsea Football club also championed the campaign, including a dedicated promotion in their Europa League matchday programme last week.
We have received over 3,000 visits to the campaign page, with over 150 portable carbon monoxide alarms purchased within the first 2 weeks of the campaign.

THE GLOBAL LGBTQ+ TOURISM DISTINCTION: QUEER DESTINATIONS COMMITTED
Did you know that, according to statistics from UN TOURISM and Gallup, 1 in 5 international travellers belongs to the LGBTQ+ community? Is your team prepared to welcome them in the most appropriate and professional manner?
To address this situation, we have created the global distinction Queer Destinations Committed. This distinction is designed to prepare destinations, businesses, and institutions to offer an optimal reception to this important segment of the population.
Through our e-learning platform, Hospitality Meets Diversity, we train international teams to prevent communication crises and effectively manage situations related to the LGBTQ+ community, both internally and externally.

GOAT DMC
Mendoza by Ornela, Product Manager
I had the privilege of leading a great incentive, combining the vibrant energy of Buenos Aires with the majestic tranquillity of Mendoza.
Our adventure began in Buenos Aires, where the group immersed themselves in the culture and rhythm of the city. Every corner of Buenos Aires offers a unique experience.
Then, we travelled to Mendoza, where nature took centre stage with breath-taking views of the Andes mountain range. We visited different wineries, where the group was delighted with exclusive tastings, the visit to aroma rooms, among other exclusive activities.
This incentive was much more than a trip; it was an opportunity to connect, to learn, and to enjoy two wonderful destinations!
Let’s create memories that will last a lifetime!

We have commissioned a well known cartographer to create a series of beautifully designed walking maps, which will allow guests to confidently head out across the sierras alone or accompanied by one of our guides and be able to discover the farm for themselves on foot. These maps will take the guests from our cattle station in the south right the way to the original Begg family house in the northern most part of the farm.

The island of PARITI, -the “Treasure Island,”- located in “Wiñay Marka (Eternal City),” is known for its enigmatic and mystical power. Bolivian and Finnish archaeologists discovered a wealth of archaeological treasures (900 to 1050 AD) in PARITI, including jungle animal figures & human figures, indicating visitors from beyond the Andes, displayed in a small museum on the island.
In future chapters will explore the ruins of “Chiripa,” the semi-subterranean temple of “Lukurmata,” the “Temple of the Serpent,” and other fascinating highlights.

Access to Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain via the Cusipata community has been suspended since November 2023 due to conflicts among the local communities. However, an alternative route via the Pitumarca community remains available. This route continues to be open and free from conflicts between the local communities, despite recent communication from Cusco authorities suggesting that this access might also be affected. The Pitumarca community is requesting that Cusco authorities correct this information.
