Starting at Plaza Italia, we passed murals, lakeside paths, and stopped for mate and alfajores by the Río de la Plata — a peaceful, local experience. Lunch was a steak sandwich in the Palermo woods.

The high-quality e-bikes were perfect for the 5- to 6-hour ride. With a flexible, curated route and time to pause, ask questions, or simply enjoy the view, this immersive tour offered a fresh, personal way to discover the city beyond the usual landmarks.

There is a corner of Panama still flying under the radar—an inspiring route along the Pacific coast where culture and nature remain beautifully authentic. Begin in Panama City, where travellers can explore the Canal’s visitor centres, wander the historic quarters, enjoy rainforest adventures, sip world-class Panamanian coffee and visit a sloth conservation sanctuary. A short flight leads to Chitré, a town rooted in tradition, home to artisans who craft drums, masks and the iconic pollera. Off its coast lies Isla Iguana, the Pacific’s only white-sand island. Continue to laid-back Santa Catalina, gateway to UNESCO-protected Isla Coiba, then end in Boca Chica among the islands of the Chiriquí archipelago, with humpback whales breaching from July to October.

Amazonas Explorer

We are proud to be finalists for a Global Responsible Tourism Award, in the Climate Adaptation and Resilience category.

Perfect timing, as we launch the 2025-6 Queuña-Raymi tree planting season. On the 5th of December, we’ll be up around 4200m, together with the Patacancha community, planting over 15,000 trees, funded by our ”2 trees per person per day” commitment and as part of a far larger tree planting project to plant millions of trees annually throughout the length of the Andes thus restoring and protecting native forests, securing vital water resources and helping mitigate climate change for vulnerable local communities.

If you’d like to get involved, drop me an email to sales@amazonas-explorer.com or buy some trees on this link
