Tropic Travel
New Traveller Carbon Offsetting Program
Tropic has again passed recertifying our operations under the Preferred by Nature Standard for Sustainable Travel Activities and passed our surveillance audit.
Since 2024, we have been measuring the carbon footprint of our offices and internal operations. We have fully mitigated our impact, making our internal operations carbon neutral through a verified program. Now, together with Regenera, we have developed an easy and transparent way to address the carbon footprint generated by our journeys. Based on an average across our operations, a contribution of USD 2/traveler/day – a realistic reflection of impact – mitigates each trip. We invite your travelers to participate in carbon offsetting by default in their trips with Tropic. This allows your guests to neutralize their footprint while supporting conservation initiatives that positively impact our destinations.

Year of the Horse
As we start the Chinese New Year and the beginning of the Year of the Horse, we are reminded of Argentina’s rich equestrian heritage — from the gauchos of the Pampas to world-class polo and exceptional riding landscapes. Inspired by the horse’s spirit of freedom and strength, Argentina offers authentic, timeless experiences.
Multi-day horseback rides go beyond adventure; they are rooted in history and rural traditions across the Andes and Pampas. Travelers can stay at working estancias, ride through vast grasslands or Patagonia’s dramatic scenery, and even camp under the stars. Horseback riding here is more than an activity — it’s a true connection to Argentina’s identity. We look forward to creating journeys that honour this remarkable tradition.

Meanwhile, just outside Buenos Aires, Isla El Descanso in Tigre delivers an exclusive nature escape featuring curated gardens, art installations, and refined gastronomy in a private island setting. These experiences respond to the growing demand for immersive, unique, and emotionally engaging journeys that feel personal, authentic, and truly memorable.

In this interview filmed aboard the historic Cristina vessel, Simon Heyes of Senderos talks with Alberto about his life as a mountaineer, expedition guide, and today, director of Estancia Cristina — a man who has made one of Patagonia’s most remote corners his life’s work.

Chilean Patagonia: Where Nature Defies Logic
In Chilean Patagonia, nature breaks the rules. The Pío XI Glacier, South America’s largest, doesn’t retreat, it advances! Its rare behaviour makes it a living laboratory, revealing both the resilience and fragility of ice.
These and other awe-inspiring glaciers are part of the everyday scenery aboard Patagonia expedition cruises. Here, science becomes lived experience and geography turns into a journey. At Southbound, we explore Patagonia both by land and by sea, reaching its most remote corners while managing every detail of the itinerary and logistics before, during, and after this once-in-a-lifetime expedition cruise.

Delfin Amazon Cruise
Biocultural restoration program
In July 2025, 18 families from three Marañón River communities joined BioRest, the voluntary biocultural restoration program of Delfín Amazon Cruises.
Together, they are restoring degraded land with native, useful plants through agroforestry systems and ethnobotanical orchards that bring food and healing species back home. Community Forest Schools strengthen conservation skills, while elders’ Traditional Ecological Knowledge is recorded to guide future generations. In the buffer zone of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, families and DAC are planting a living corridor, where forest, culture, and livelihoods grow stronger, rooted in pride and shared stewardship.

This context enhances visits to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, helping travellers recognise architectural features and symbolism. At the citadel, it is more than a landmark, a place travellers can interpret and engage with during their visit.
