We absolutely loved this lodge! It was nestled in the Amazon jungle and was secluded and peaceful as well as incredibly beautiful! The gorgeous surroundings are unreal. The food was absolutely delicious! We especially loved the cheese empanadas. So good! We had Miguel (aka: Indiana Jones) as our guide for our 4 days in this Amazon lodge. He was outstanding! He took such good care of us. He was such a gentleman & helped us so much. We couldn't decide if he was our guide or personal butler because he was always there helping us. In the end, he became a dear friend. He made sure all of our needs were taken care. Helped us find monkeys & ensured that I got to spend time with Ramona, the rescued, orphaned monkey. The lodge was clean, well maintained and so nice! We loved the pool, the tree house, everything! Do all the activities that you can. We did a hike, white water rafting, canoe ride to find fish (including piranha, wow are they fast), birds and so many monkeys!! We also indulged in 2 massages in a tree house over the river. It was heaven! We also did the cooking class where we made fish & chicken wrapped in a large leaf & cooked over an open flame. So yummy! The chocolate we made was so good & we learned so much about the history of Ecuador, chocolate, food, animals and the Amazon rainforest. Once again, Miguel taught us all this and was an absolute delight. Lu was so kind & patient during the booking process. She answered all of my many questions & made all the arrangements, including transportation to & from the lodge. Thanks to her, everything was flawless. We also met Ivan, the owner, he was very kind & made sure everything was to our liking. The rooms were beautiful and the bed comfy. We absolutely loved our stay here! If you want an Amazon Rainforest experience, look no further! Just book Kuyana Lodge. You will love it as much as we do!
