SHORTLIST ANNOUNCED FOR ICRT LATA RESPONSIBLE TOURISM AWARDS

Shortlist for ICRT LATA Responsible Tourism Awards 2026 Announced

Fourteen finalists from Chile, Ecuador, Brazil, Peru and Mexico have been shortlisted for the 2026 ICRT LATA Responsible Tourism Awards. There were a record number of entries this year and whilst the awards are open to any business, irrespective of being a LATA member, we are delighted that so many of the shortlisted entries are from within the LATA membership.

Applicants have demonstrated clear evidence, replicability, innovation, influence, sustainability and an overall commitment to responsible tourism. The winners will be announced on Monday 8 June during the Gala Dinner at LATA Expo.

The awards cover six categories: adapting to climate change, championing cultural diversity, diversity equity and inclusion, local economic benefit, nature positive and regenerative tourism.

The judges of the LATA Responsible Tourism Awards 2026 were chaired by Emeritus Professor Harold Goodwin, managing director of the Responsible Tourism Partnership and founder ICRT global and included Katie Cosstick LATA head of member services, Gustavo Pinto, ICRT South America, Anne-Kathrin Zschiegner, director of the Long Run, Chris Haslam, chief travel writer at The Sunday Times, Edgar Weggelaar, CEO of Queer Destinations, Maria Emilia Correl, co-founder and Senior Strategist at Sistema B, and Quinn Meyer, founder of CREES Manu.

Thank you to everyone who submitted an application, and to our group of judges for their time and efforts in reading every entry.

Gold winners of the ICRT LATA Responsible Tourism Awards will then contend for the Global Responsible Tourism Awards, which are announced on 2 November in London.
