LATA FOUNDATION

We are currently finalising the LATA Expo prize selection and are delighted to have received a strong number of generous offers, including several larger headline prizes. Alongside these, we are also looking to include a selection of smaller, more accessible items to ensure a broad and engaging range for both the auction and raffle.

We particularly welcome artisan products, regional specialities, physical luxury items, or UK-based experiences. Previous contributions have included items such as pashmina scarves and hand-crafted goods, which were very well received. If you are travelling from Latin America to Expo, we would be especially grateful if you might consider bringing a prize with you.

If you are able to contribute, Abbi would love to hear from you at abbi@latafoundation.org.

Thank you very much for your continued generosity.

Travel Risk Professionals

Crisis Response

The recent events in the Middle East have demonstrated how suddenly a picture can change and how difficult it can be to prepare for such eventualities. It is vitally important that tour operators build resilience and response to major global crisis events.

Travel Risk Professionals have provided liability and crisis response solutions for tour operators and travel agents for many years and have experienced events which, if not managed appropriately can cause significant damage to the operator’s brand and reputation.

Crisis preparation and response is key. We provide training sessions for clients to assist and enhance their crisis preparation and to help with crisis and incident planning.

Both are intrinsically linked. For businesses with a dedicated & experienced internal team, this may be easier to prepare. For smaller & mid-sized operators without this resource, Travel Risk Professionals are able to assist clients through focussed training designed to produce appropriate responses in the event of an incident.

Additionally, TRP provides 24/7 crisis response available with our tour operator liability cover. This includes telephone assistance and will also provide, expert boots on the ground, liaison with authorities and consulates and daily situation reports.

Our team of includes former UK special forces, crisis experts and kidnap and hostage negotiators. Trauma Counsellors and PR advisors.

Recent events in the Middle East have seen evacuation from danger zones to places of safety, emergency transportation on standby and planning for delivery of emergency medicine.

Rather than waiting for the next crisis event to occur, his reinforces the need to plan ahead now.

Argentina On The Go

There comes a point when iconic destinations no longer shape the journey. Patagonia, Buenos Aires and Mendoza are still there, but for a seasoned traveller, those names no longer hold the same appeal.

At ATOG, we think in terms of sequences, not destinations. A well-designed itinerary is not just the sum of icons but a meaningful progression. The appeal lies not in the novelty, but in its authenticity.

The Marshlands, the remote Patagonian steppe or the high Puna, are beginning to appear more frequently in itineraries where the aim is not to tick off places, but to build depth.

Geo Boutique Travel Designer

Nature & Wildlife travel inspiration

Ecuador holds less than 0.2% of the planet’s surface yet concentrates roughly 10% of all plant species on Earth, alongside some of the world’s highest densities of birds, reptiles, and mammals. Four ecosystems in one compact territory: the Andes, the cloud forest, the Amazon, and the Galápagos Islands, each sustaining its own wildlife and its own travel logic.

Geo Boutique Travel Designer has translated this biodiversity into four purpose-built wildlife itineraries. High-altitude páramo, specialist birding routes through private reserves, fully immersive Amazon lodge programs, and multi-island Galápagos experiences. Each one designed around what the traveller genuinely wants to observe, backed by 22 years of in-destination expertise.

When Should You Start Planning Your Galapagos Trip?

Planning a trip to the Galapagos Islands requires thoughtful timing to ensure a seamless and rewarding experience. With limited availability on small ships and high demand during peak travel periods, starting your planning process 6 to 12 months in advance allows for greater flexibility, better cabin selection, and a more relaxed journey preparation.

While last-minute opportunities may arise for flexible travellers, early planning remains the best way to secure preferred itineraries.

With over 57 years of experience, our team offers expert guidance to help you design a Galapagos cruise defined by comfort, confidence, and personalized service.

Galapagos: Plan Ahead for a More Exclusive Experience

Planning ahead is key when it comes to the Galapagos Islands. For departures between September and November, early booking allows access to a wider selection of vessels, routes and cabin categories, ensuring a more tailored experience for your clients. This period offers excellent wildlife encounters, including sea lions, blue-footed boobies and other iconic species, along with a more balanced flow of visitors compared to peak months.

As availability is limited and regulated, securing space in advance makes a significant difference in both product quality and overall experience.

Chepe Express: One Journey or Multi-Stop Experience for Your Clients?

The Chepe Express offers a unique way to explore northern Mexico. But how should you sell it: in one journey or with stopovers? The full route from Creel to Los Mochis (or vice versa) takes 9 hours 40 minutes. As trains do not operate daily, stopovers require a minimum of two nights. Travel agents are encouraged to explore the full routing possibilities and plan well-paced itineraries accordingly. To support this, download the 2026 timetable quick reference guide HERE.

Amazonas Explorer

Black Canyon of the Apurímac

Amazonas Explorer reopened the Black Canyon of the Apurímac for the 2026 rafting season. The journey into the 3,000m-deep canyon featured stunning glacier views with alpacas briefly blocking the road and wild guinea pigs spotted nearby. A landslide had to be cleared before reaching the put-in. On the river, high-level class 4+ rapids delivered adrenaline-filled action, requiring careful inspection.

Otters were spotted along the way, and the day ended with Swiftwater rescue practice and a few beers. As the rainy season ends, we hope to open the Granite Canyon soon. For more information, contact info@amazonas-explorer.com
