Inspired by the BBC’s ‘Race Across the World’ which in its first series sees five pairs of travellers battle it out in an epic race across South America, and to perk up agents during the lockdown, the Latin American Travel Association (LATA) has launched a new incentive for agents to complete its online travel training programme; ‘Beginner’s Guide to Selling Latin America’, created in collaboration with OTT.
During April and May 2020, 10 prizes will be up for grabs every week including social isolation essentials such as South American wine and themed cookbooks to enable agents to enjoy a little taste of Latin America from the comfort of their own home.
Designed to enable agents to feel more confident about selling Latin America, LATA’s vision for the LATA OTT Academy is for it to become a one-stop-shop for all training on Latin America. Currently the course offers a set of 24 beginners guides to Latin America each country module covering the basics: capital, language, currency, visa requirements, and getting there as well as five top highlights to give a flavour of each destination.
Colin Stewart, Chairman of LATA, commented: “The objective of the LATA OTT Academy is to equip travel agents with the necessary tools, knowledge and resources to better sell the continent. We hope this initiative will bolster the understanding of Latin America as a visitor destination, showcase some of the diverse travel experiences available and ultimately make the travel trade feel more confident in selling the destination, as well as providing some well-needed treats along the way.”
