LATA Virtual Workshop with The Long Run
14 July @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Story Travels: Communicating Impact Across the Value Chain
You’re doing extraordinary work. Protecting landscapes, backing communities, building trips that genuinely give something back. The frustrating part is that none of it sells itself, and the minute the word “sustainability” comes up, you can almost feel a client start to switch off.
So, this session isn’t really about how to sell sustainability. It’s about something more useful: how to make a guest feel part of the story, and how that story makes it all the way from the people creating the impact on the ground to the traveller who experiences it, without falling apart somewhere between the operator, the DMC and the property.
Together we’ll dig into the real questions behind engaging travellers in impact:
- What it actually looks like to make a guest feel part of the story, rather than sold to.
- When the story needs to be told, and where it lives across the client journey.
- How information needs to flow between operators, DMCs and accommodation so nothing gets lost in the handoff.
- Where you hit challenges, and how you know when you’ve genuinely engaged someone, not just informed them.
- What’s worked and what hasn’t, and what the positive and negative outcomes have been.
This is a working, investigative session as much as a teaching one. Your experiences will help shape how LATA and The Long Run can better support members on this, and you’ll come away with practical tools and fresh inspiration for where your impact story lives, who carries it, and how it attracts the right guests, builds brand loyalty, and turns one-time clients into repeat bookings.
Come ready to share your ideas on what’s working, what’s not and how we can create meaningful impact storytelling that makes clients lean-in, rather than switch off.
