Beyond the Southern Right Whale, Argentina’s marine wildlife story continues to evolve.

Recent sightings around Ushuaia have included Sei Whales and even Blue Whales, species that had become exceptionally rare in these waters after decades of limited observations. Their return is drawing attention from researchers and reinforces the ecological importance of Southern Patagonia as a habitat for some of the world’s largest marine mammals.

Together with the Southern Right, Humpback and Fin Whales that visit Argentine waters, these sightings highlight the country’s remarkable cetacean diversity and offer a fresh perspective on wildlife experiences in the far south.
