For Tropic Travel, caring for the natural environments where it operates means taking responsibility for its own practices and holding them to independent scrutiny. This commitment is reflected in the renewal of its Preferred by Nature certification, achieving 100% conformity with applicable requirements for the second consecutive year.
The latest assessment completed the second and final monitoring audit of the 2024–2026 cycle, following version 1.1 of the Standard for Sustainable Tourism Activities. Tropic is certified by Preferred by Nature, a certification body accredited by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), which has reviewed the company’s sustainability practices for several years.
The certification covers operations in Ecuador, Peru and Chile under a single multi-site framework. Maintaining these standards involves teams and suppliers in all three countries, whose contributions were recognised when the 2026 certificate was presented in Lima on 2 October.
The result reflects work underway since 2022, with independent assessments helping identify opportunities for improvement ahead of the next certification cycle in 2027.
