Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands

Heavy rainfall on October 31 caused flooding on Santa Cruz Island in Galápagos, damaging homes and affecting local families. As recovery efforts begin, we believe this is an important moment for the international travel community to come together and lend a hand.
At Tropic, our connection to Galápagos goes well beyond the journeys we organize. We’ve built lasting relationships with people and organizations dedicated to protecting these islands, including Fundación Jocotoco, a long-standing partner with whom we’ve collaborated on conservation and community initiatives in mainland Ecuador and Galápagos, particularly on Floreana Island.
We’re supporting Jocotoco’s El Niño Emergency Fund, an initiative to mobilize humanitarian assistance for those affected by extreme weather in Ecuador, while helping communities recover and prepare for future emergencies.
The people of Galápagos have welcomed travelers from around the world with incredible warmth and generosity. We hope our friends and colleagues in the travel industry will come together to offer some of that kindness in return.

Travel to the Galápagos Islands continues, with Baltra Airport fully operational and local tourism partners, including hotels, continuing their activities. Our team remains on the ground, working closely with our partners and monitoring developments to ensure a smooth travel experience for our guests.
