Golden Experiences & Travel Supports Sloth Conservation in the Ecuadorian Amazon

Golden Experiences & Travel has partnered with Merazonia Wildlife Refuge to support the rescue, rehabilitation, and return of sloths to the Amazon rainforest. This collaboration contributes to wildlife care initiatives focused on animals affected by habitat disruption across the Ecuadorian Amazon.

At Merazonia’s specialized rescue center, sloths receive veterinary care, nutritional support, and a calm environment designed to prepare them for life back in the forest. Once rehabilitated, they are gradually reintroduced into protected rainforest areas where researchers monitor their adaptation and survival.

Guests visiting La Selva Eco-Lodge & Retreat can also learn about these initiatives through interpretation led by naturalist guides, offering deeper insight into how travel can help advance conservation efforts.
