On February 6th, 2027, visitors to southern Chile can witness a spectacular annular solar eclipse. As the Moon passes in front of the Sun without completely covering it, a brilliant “Ring of Fire” will appear in the sky.

The path of the eclipse crosses some of Chilean Patagonia’s most remarkable destinations, including Futaleufú and Chaitén, as well as parts of Chiloé Island, such as Chonchi and Castro. Here, travellers can combine this rare astronomical event with dramatic mountains, forests, fjords and island landscapes.

With the eclipse taking place during Chile’s summer season, demand for well-located accommodation is expected to be high. Early planning is strongly recommended for clients wishing to turn this celestial spectacle into an unforgettable journey through southern Chile.
