Nature-based tourism and conservation in Bolivar, Colombia

This half-day experience takes place in Villanueva, Bolívar, 35 kilometres from Cartagena, within a representative area of tropical dry forest. The activity combines nature tourism with wildlife conservation processes, offering close insight into the rehabilitation and release of rescued parrots and macaws. The itinerary includes nature trails, bird and primate observation, horseback riding within the reserve, and visits to traditional crops managed by local farming communities. The experience is complemented by regional gastronomy, 4×4 transportation, and continuous guidance from trained guides, promoting a responsible and educational approach to the natural and rural landscapes of Colombia’s Caribbean region.
