Hi everyone,

Sharing a quick update on the current situation at Iguazu Falls, as we’re on the ground here in Foz do Iguassu.

Over the past few days, the park has experienced some intermittent closures: it closed on Sunday, reopened on Monday before closing again, and yesterday operated normally until part of the afternoon. These are temporary measures, with specific routes being restricted while local authorities assess the risk. At this stage, there is no indication of a definitive closure of the main attractions.

The Devil’s Throat walkway remains closed, as previously announced.

For those with travellers heading to the region, both sides of the falls offer good alternatives if one area is affected. The Brazilian side, Macuco Safari and Parque das Aves have been operating as usual.

We’ll keep the group posted on any significant changes. Happy to help if anyone has questions about the situation locally.

Best regards,

Gondwana Brasil
