This immersive Oaxaca experience explores the deeply rooted traditions of Día de los Muertos. Begin with a local family, tasting traditional Oaxacan chocolate and pan de muerto before visiting a colorful market filled with flowers, bread, chocolate, incense, skulls, and candles. Purchase offerings and return to prepare an altar, followed by delicious Oaxacan mole, tortillas, mezcal, and pennyroyal tea. In the evening, visit the traditional pantheons of Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán and Santa María Atzompa, illuminated with candles and cempasúchil flowers. End the celebration dancing to music and joining a lively parade, honoring the connection between the living and those who have passed away.
