Travellers planning an adventure through northern Mexico can now start organising their journey aboard the Chepe Express, one of the country’s most remarkable railway experiences. The 2027 operating calendar covers departures from 11 January 2027 to 30 January 2028, with bookings already open.
Spanning more than 350 kilometres between Creel, in the mountains of Chihuahua, and Los Mochis, on the Pacific coast, the journey takes around nine hours through dramatic canyons, pine forests, tunnels and bridges. The route connects five destinations: Creel, Divisadero, Bahuichivo, El Fuerte and Los Mochis.
The train offers a memorable way to discover the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. Visitors can admire panoramic views of the Copper Canyon, explore the mountain landscapes around Creel, discover Rarámuri Indigenous culture and experience the historic streets of El Fuerte.
On board, passengers can enjoy comfortable seating, regional cuisine, a bar and a terrace, with additional dining experiences available in First Class.
The 2027 calendar provides six departures per week for most of the year, with seasonal adjustments in April, May, June, August and September. Travellers should check the exact operating dates before booking flights and accommodation.
Recognised as Mexico’s “Best Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience” at the 2026 Lo Mejor de México awards, Chepe Express offers more than a train ride: it is an opportunity to discover one of the country’s most extraordinary landscapes.
