Located between the Andean foothills and the Amazon rainforest, Caquetá is emerging as one of Colombia’s most authentic territories. Known as the “Green Treasure of Colombia,” the department is home to rivers, waterfalls, caves, and natural reserves that protect exceptional biodiversity. After years marked by armed conflict, the region has found in tourism an alternative closely connected to its land and communities. Places such as Los Portales del Fragua and El Danubio Nature Reserve reflect this transformation, while experiences linked to cacao, coffee, açaí, and local gastronomy offer visitors a closer look at a region that now reveals a new perspective on the Colombian Amazon.
