Following the heavy rainfall experienced on October 30 in Puerto Ayora and across Santa Cruz Island, Galápagos, Aqua Expeditions would like to reassure our trade partners that Aqua Mare continues to operate as normal, with no disruption to our cruise operations or guest experience.

The intense rainfall caused localized flooding in parts of Santa Cruz Island, particularly in the highlands, as natural drainage channels overflowed. Local authorities have been actively monitoring the affected areas and coordinating the appropriate response.

Our Aqua Mare operations remain unaffected, and all crew members are safe. Our local team continues to closely monitor conditions and remains in coordination with the relevant authorities.

As part of Aqua Mare’s Eastern itinerary, land excursions are scheduled in the highlands. Conditions will be carefully reassessed ahead of these activities, and the program will be adjusted if necessary. Thanks to the flexibility of Aqua Mare’s itinerary, we are well positioned to make any required changes while minimizing disruption to the overall guest experience.
Flight operations were temporarily affected following the rainfall, and our team continues to monitor local transportation and airport updates closely.

At this stage, we do not anticipate any impact on Aqua Mare’s cruise operations or the overall guest experience. We will continue to monitor the situation carefully and provide our trade partners with relevant updates should circumstances change.
