Airbus recognized DAP during FIDAE 2026 for achieving the first-ever aerial circumnavigation of Antarctica using two Airbus H125 helicopters.

Conducted between December 2024 and January 2025 as part of the multinational SWIDA-RINGS scientific project, the mission covered more than 8,000 miles and 260 flight hours in extreme Antarctic conditions. Airbus highlighted the technical expertise of DAP’s crews and the performance of the H125 in remote environments. DAP CEO Nicolás Pivcevic dedicated the recognition to the flight crews and logistics teams involved, emphasizing the significance of the achievement within the company’s 39 years of helicopter operations and more than 300,000 flight hours. Founded in 1980, DAP operates throughout Chilean Patagonia, Antarctica, Argentina, and other international destinations.
