Andean Trails Ltd

Andean Trails is a small, Edinburgh-based South America specialist. Kathy Jarvis founded it in 1998 after four years working as a trekking guide in the Andes. Our small team frequently travel the continent themselves: Kathy has been leading and arranging trips here since 1994 and Tom has spent 20 years building our trips and writing about them.

We plan private trips for couples, families and friends. We also run small-group departures and organise expeditions for schools, scout groups and clubs. Trips range from the Huayhuash Circuit and the Inca Trail to Torres del Paine, Tierra del Fuego, the Galápagos and the rainforest. Active travel is where we started: trekking, climbing, biking, horse riding and rafting. Alongside these we run wildlife, cultural and self-drive trips. On the ground we work with local guides and operators we know personally, from Cusco and Huaraz to El Calafate.

We support the LATA Foundation and give regularly to two Peruvian organisations. Huchuy Yachaq works with children in rural Andean communities. ECOAN protects high-Andean Polylepis forest. We’re ATOL protected (6275), and client money is held in a trust account.
