St Helena Island - Secret of the South Atlantic

Category: Tourist Boards
St Helena Tourism is the official tourist office of the island of St Helena, which is located in the South Atlantic between South America and Africa.
The nearest land to St Helena is Ascension Island, which is 703 miles (1,125km) to the North West. It is 1 200 miles (1 950km) west of Namibia and 1 800 miles (2 900km) east of Brazil.
A 47-square mile island, it is one of the remotest settled islands in the world. A sub-tropical paradise, it is also one of the most spectacular as far as contrast goes.
With its uniquely rich diversity of heritage-based attractions, both built and natural, St Helena offers many things to see and lots to do. For a full list, contact St Helena Tourism.
Until now visitors could only reach the island by boat or yacht, but in 2016 St Helena will be opening its first airport offering weekly flights to-and-from Johannesburg with connecting flights to South America and Europe.
